Energy Management Module

Energy Management Module
This module was part of a joint development between the National Best Value Benchmarking Scheme and BRECSU to develop a benchmarking tool that can be widely used within the property field. Its main value is as a trend indicator to show how the performance of the authority is improving year on year.

The objective of this document is to facilitate a fast and impartial assessment of current energy efficiency status in a form that can be directly entered as data. It is aligned to the Making a Corporate Commitment (MACC) programme, which has 7 key components. The current status for each of these components is assessed on a scale of '0' to '4' where '4' represents current best practice, and '0' identifies very little or no progress

Areas covered include:
  • Simplified Structure Map
  • Management Matrix
  • Administration and Finance Matrix
  • Operational Matrix
  • Technical Matrix
Confidentiality
The process is totally confidential. Each authority receives a print out of their own information together with a set of histograms, which highlight where that authority is in relation to the other members of the group. As you only have highlighted your own authority no one knows who the other authorities are and thus total confidentiality is maintained. However if you wish to get in touch with another authority that appears to be performing better than you, this we can arrange.

Membership
Most of our members who have Energy Management Units use this module to show the improvements that have been made year on year.
